Transactions

Log, categorize, and search every dollar you spend or earn.

Adding a Transaction

Tap the + button on Home to open transaction entry. Fill in:

  • Amount — enter the number; KineXi treats it as an expense by default
  • Category — tap to pick from your categories, or let AI suggest one
  • Account — which account the money came from or went to
  • Date — defaults to today; tap to change
  • Note — optional description (used by AI for better categorization)

To log an income transaction, tap the expense/income toggle at the top of the sheet before entering the amount.

Voice Input

Tap the microphone icon on the keyboard toolbar to speak a transaction naturally. For example:

  • "Coffee for five dollars"
  • "Paid rent 1200"
  • "Grocery run 47.50 from savings"

Supported voice entry fills the form from your speech. Allow microphone and speech recognition access when prompted, then review the amount, category, and account before saving. You can always type the entry instead.

AI Categorization

On supported devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, KineXi can suggest a category from your description or note. Review the suggestion or pick a category manually.

AI suggestions are optional and may be wrong. Your review is the final step before saving a transaction.

Editing & Deleting

Swipe left on any transaction in the list to reveal quick actions:

  • Edit — opens the full entry sheet pre-filled with existing values
  • Delete — permanently removes the transaction (no undo)

Tap a transaction to open it in read-only detail view, from which you can also tap Edit.

Search

Find transactions in Activity. Search by keyword, or use supported semantic search to describe what you are looking for:

  • "coffee last week"
  • "big purchases in January"
  • "anything from the grocery store"

Use the filter chips to narrow by category, account, or date range.

Recurring Rules

For transactions that repeat on a schedule (salary, rent, subscriptions), create a Recurring Rule. KineXi will automatically create the transaction on the scheduled date.

To create a rule: open a transaction → tap Make Recurring → set the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and end date (optional).

Recurring transactions appear in the upcoming bills section of your dashboard.
